The AQUATECHInn 4.0 Gamified Quiz mobile application (hereinafter “the App”) is an educational tool developed under the AQUATECHInn 4.0 project to promote learning on sustainability, circular economy, and aquaculture. This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles personal information and protects user data in compliance with European and international data-protection standards.

1. Data Collection and Processing

The App does not collect, store, or share any personal information.

· No account registration or login is required.

· No personal identifiers (such as name, email, or device ID) are gathered.

· Answers provided in quizzes are processed locally on the user’s device and are not transmitted to any external server.

If, in future project versions, optional data collection is introduced for research or educational analytics, users will be explicitly informed and required to provide consent before any information is collected.

2. Data Usage and Storage

All progress, quiz scores, or achievements are stored locally on the user’s Android device. This data is used solely to display learning progression within the App and can be erased at any time by selecting Reset Progress in the application options. No information is accessible to CiTIUS-USC, AQUATECHInn 4.0 partners, or any third parties.

3. Third-Party Services

The App does not integrate analytics, advertising, tracking frameworks, or external SDKs that transmit user data to third parties. If future educational extensions use third-party platforms (e.g., Moodle or institutional APIs), they will comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR 2016/679) and any applicable EU legislation.

4. Intellectual Property and Educational Use

All texts, illustrations, gamified interfaces, quiz content, and educational materials are the intellectual property of the AQUATECHInn 4.0 project consortium, coordinated by the University of Santiago de Compostela (CiTIUS-USC). Use of these assets is strictly limited to educational and training purposes. Reproduction, extraction, or redistribution outside the authorized context is prohibited without prior written permission from CiTIUS-USC and the AQUATECHInn 4.0 consortium.

5. Information Security

The App is designed to operate entirely offline and does not communicate with external servers. Users must not attempt to decompile, reverse-engineer, or tamper with the App’s files or structure. Any detected misuse, unauthorized modification, or distribution may lead to legal or institutional action.

6. Children’s Privacy

The App may be used by students or trainees in supervised educational contexts. It does not request or collect any data that can identify a child or adult user.

7. Disclaimer and Availability

The AQUATECHInn 4.0 development team at CiTIUS-USC strives to maintain the App’s quality and stability but cannot guarantee uninterrupted operation on all Android devices. The App is provided “as is” for educational use, without warranties of any kind. CiTIUS-USC is not responsible for technical failures, device malfunctions, or user-initiated data loss.
